UAB Pediatric Neuromuscular Care

As pediatric neuromuscular specialists, we focus on diagnosing and treating children with both common and rare muscle-related disorders. Our team uses the latest technologies for diagnosis, including genetic tests, nerve and muscle studies, and specialized blood tests. We offer cutting-edge treatments like gene therapies, immune therapies (including steroids and monoclonal antibodies), and other modern medications recently approved by the FDA. We are also involved in clinical research and trials to continually improve care.
Our patients benefit from a team of experts across various fields including lung health, heart health, genetics, bone care, and rehabilitation. We also provide supportive care through physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, and nutrition services.
Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for children with neuromuscular disorders by offering comprehensive, coordinated care that is tailored to meet their individual health, developmental, and emotional needs.
