Brain Tumors

brain_tumors.jpgThe COA CNS Tumor Program is a multi-disciplinary effort in close collaboration with UAB faculty in Pediatric Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Otolaryngology, Neurology, Neuroradiology, Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Medicine to provide cutting-edge comprehensive care for children with CNS neoplasms.  Meetings include a weekly Tumor Board and Neuropathology and Radiation Oncology conferences. We have expertise in all modalities of surgical care, including open microsurgery, minimally invasive approaches, ventricular endoscopy, transnasal skull base approaches, laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) and radiosurgery.  In addition, our faculty lead and participated in a large number of national and international clinical trials through the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC), Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC) and Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN).

Our team members stay up-to-date on medical knowledge, publish in peer reviewed medical literature, and speak at national meetings and other centers of excellence.
