Children’s is a private, not-for-profit medical center that serves as the teaching hospital for UAB’s pediatric medicine, surgery, psychiatry, research and residency programs. The medical staff at Children’s of Alabama consists of UAB faculty and Children’s of Alabama’s full-time physicians as well as private practicing community physicians.

Medical students enrolled in the Pediatric Residency and Fellowship Programs at UAB receive their pediatric training at Children’s of Alabama. The goal of these education programs is to train the next generation of doctors in a hands-on, intensive medical environment, building the foundation for a rewarding and successful career in pediatrics. As part of the training and education process established by UAB Department of Pediatrics, residents and fellows may be part of your child’s health care team. Residents and subspecialty fellows have the opportunity to explore every aspect of pediatrics from outpatient to critical care medicine and every subspecialty within the field.
