Special Interests

Dr. Hardwick earned his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1983 and completed his pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is board certified in pediatrics as well as pediatric emergency medicine. Prior to joining Vestavia Pediatrics, he served as an attending physician in The Children’s Hospital Emergency Department for 10 years. During this time, Dr. Hardwick worked with the Alabama Department of Public Health and Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) to improve pediatric education in pre-hospital providers. Dr. Hardwick’s professional goals continue to include improving pediatric education in the community as well as a commitment to medical mission work. He is married and the father of three children.
