Jose R. Mestre, MD, is a clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Dr. Mestre joined UAB in 1982 as assistant professor of pediatrics and director of the division of gastroenterology in the department of pediatrics. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.
