Dr. Russell grew up in Knoxville, Tenn., and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the South. She received her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina and completed her residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio. She remained in Ohio in private practice for four years before moving to Birmingham in 2007. She was in private practice in Alabaster, until January 2013, when she joined Mayfair Medical Group. Dr. Russell has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2003. She is married to Stephen Russell, a Birmingham native and Internal Medicine/Pediatric physician with UAB. She stays active with her four children, involvement at Mountain Brook Community Church, reading and working out.
