Cardiology Clinic
The Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology Clinics at University of Alabama at Birmingham/Children's of Alabama provide medical expertise in the diagnosis and management of infants, children, adolescents and adults born with congenital heart disease or who acquire cardiac disease during childhood. We are committed to giving comprehensive cardiac evaluation and coordinated care in a patient centered, efficient manner.
Our outpatient clinic is staffed by a team of highly specialized cardiologists, nurses, echocardiographers and support personnel. We offer state-of-the-art, non-invasive diagnostic testing including electrocardiograms (ECG's), echocardiograms, CT angiograms, cardiac MRI, rhythm disorders diagnosis and management, and exercise-stress testing.
- Each patient is assigned a primary cardiologist who oversees the cardiac care and helps coordinate the care of multiple subspecialists necessary to treat the child's clinical condition.
- Appointments are readily available (within 2 weeks for a new patient with a non-urgent problem)
- Timely communication with the referring physician (usually within 2 business days of the evaluation)
- All calls from established patients to our office are returned on the same day
To assist families and physician's offices, a triage line is available for questions and advice Monday through Friday from 8:15 am until 4:30 pm.
