Connective Tissue Disorders and Marfan
The UAB/COA Marfan Syndrome and Related Disorders Clinic offers a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and followup care and counseling for patients with Marfan syndrome and other genetic aortic disorders.
Children and adults may be referred by their primary medical providers for initial evaluation that includes a comprehensive genetic and cardiac evaluation, and in some cases, additional evaluations including eye, orthopedic, pulmonary, and others.
Staffed by members of the UAB Department of Genetics including clinical geneticist Nathaniel Robin, MD, and genetics counselor Fallon Levine Brewer MSGC, and UAB Division of Pediatric Cardiology nurse Anna Goode RN BSN and pediatric cardiologist Walter H. Johnson, Jr, MD.
