Our Goal
The Charity League Hearing and Speech Center at Children’s of Alabama provides diagnostic and rehabilitative speech-language and audiology services to the pediatric population in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Our goal is to maximize your child’s communicative potential so that the individual may better adapt to home, school, and social environments.

How to Schedule an Appointment
For an audiology or speech appointment, please fax a referral to our scheduling department at 205-638-3680.
For an appointment with the vestibular and balance program, please email balance@childrensal.org.
We accept referrals from physicians, parents, or others concerned about your child. We accept all types of insurance including Medicaid. Some insurance plans require an up-to-date referral from your physician and/or a pre-authorization for the visit prior to scheduling. Your scheduling representative will discuss this with you when you call to schedule. Please have your insurance card and co-pay at the time of service.
