Liver Care Center

The Pediatric Liver Care Center provides assessment, treatment and comprehensive follow-up care for infants and children with a wide variety of disorders that impact normal liver function. The focus of the Center is on the care of patients with minimal to severe degrees of liver dysfunction. For those relatively rare patients whose liver disease becomes extremely grave, a referral can then made to our Pediatric Liver Transplant Program for consideration of potential liver transplantation as the next step of therapy.

Infants and children with liver disease require skillful management by an experienced team of care givers dedicated to this patient population. Our Pediatric Liver Care Center team includes pediatric gastroenterologists with a special focus in pediatric hepatology, pediatric surgeons and liver transplant surgeons, advanced practice nurses, transplant coordinators, nutritionists, social workers, child life specialists and psychologists.
