Birmingham, Ala. (Sept. 30, 2024) — Dogwood Hill, a Birmingham-based online stationery company, launched a new holiday greeting card collection inspired by two Children’s of Alabama patients.
Local artist Abby Little Jessup created the art for Dogwood Hill’s Light the Way Collection with the help of 7-year-old Margaret Anne and 10-year-old Harmony. The cards feature some of the hospital’s unique features, including the “river tree,” which represents the painted blue river that starts at the hospital's entrance and helps patients find their way around campus. Margaret-Anne and Harmony painted the colors inside the lights adorning the tree and greenery.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to partner with Children’s of Alabama,” said Jennifer Hunt, Founder and CEO of Dogwood Hill. “I saw the inside workings of the hospital during my time as a member of the Committee for the Future at Children’s. Seeing how the staff and physicians support families at some of their most difficult times inspired me to find ways to join their efforts.”
A portion of the proceeds from every sale of the Light the Way Collection will go to Children’s of Alabama, which helps families not only during the holidays but throughout the year.
“We greatly appreciate the talented team at Dogwood Hill for creating this meaningful collaboration between the artist and our patients,” said Chandler Bibb, Chief Development Officer at Children’s of Alabama. “Harmony and Margaret Anne enjoyed working with artist Abby Little Jessup to create and inspire the beautiful cards with stories of their journeys at Children’s and treasured memories.”
The cards are available on Dogwood Hill’s website or by clicking here.
