The Imaging Department at Children's of Alabama is the only imaging department in Alabama devoted exclusively to the needs of children. When your child needs an imaging procedure you cannot choose a better place. All our equipment is specifically chosen with children in mind. This means your child will receive the lowest possible dose of radiation for their age and body type. We make your child's experience as comfortable as possible. Children can watch a movie during a MRI or play a game on an iPad while having an Ultrasound examination. Each member of our team has been carefully chosen for their experience, dedication and skill in working with children. Our technologists, nurses and doctors interact with infants, children and teens every day. They are comfortable with all ages and helping children when they are scared. The Radiologists are the doctors who interpret your child's images. Our Radiologists are board certified and specialize in pediatric imaging, work on site, and provide expertise that will help you and your child's doctor make the best decisions about care. All of our images are stored electronically in a protected system. The results of imaging examinations are provided to your child's doctor, who will share them with you. Our goal in Imaging is to provide a safe, low dose imaging examination in a child friendly environment.
