Hepatobiliary Clinic

Children requiring specialized care for liver, gallbladder and bile duct disorders now have a treatment option at Children's of Alabama with the opening of a new multidisciplinary Hepatobiliary Clinic. Children's is only the second hospital in the southeastern U.S. to have a pediatric Hepatobiliary Clinic.

Patients are seen after Children's has received a referral from a primary care physician, gastroenterologist or surgeon. The clinic meets in Children's McWane Building on its Russell Campus where hepatologists, pediatric and transplant surgeons and transplant specialists provide treatment the first Thursday of each month.

Other disorders treated include:

  • Choledochal cyst
  • Sclerosing cholangitis
